It's shaping up to be a Super Day

Randomly, I was online (okay, okay it was pinterest) and found this great no sew cape tutorial. Coincidentally Dennis had a few shirts that were below his standards with a stain on the front, so craft nirvana happened today.

You can find the tutorial HERE. Pretty simple, if you have a tiny person you might want to adjust the length.

The first one is for our friend Jasper, she's had a tough go of it lately, her appendix burst and she's spending some quality time at Lucille Packard. I thought we'd cheer her up with her own super cape.

Bonus with the extra sleeves, I was able to make tiaras too. I stretched them a bit to make them fit; the girls seem thrilled..

Here is the one tiny kiddo, who's decided she'll be "P the Phantastic"

I used scrapbook paper I had laying around, because, at one time I thought I'd be a scrapper, turns out I have way too little patience for it (I know, surprise!) I used the Tulip fabric paint from JoAnn's and filled in the letters. I had them out on the back yard porch, it's 97 degrees, so took about 20 minutes to dry.

And "O the Outstanding".

The crowns just have plastic jewels I glued on with craft glue. I'll let you know how well they hold up, might end up painting them on at a later time.

Sorry for the super smudgie finger in the shot..

So, with our outfits, I'm thinking a super play date- Who's in?

Okay, so had a request  to post about the tiara.. we used the seam from the arm hole (the folded part where the arm pokes out people) and just snipped around it and left an oval to adorn with gems. I had to stretch it a bit to fit my cherubs heads.  Now it's just like a head band.

    1. Hey Choco, I used cut the arm hole off the shirt and used the cuff. I cut around the folded part leaving a bump to decorate with a glued on gem. If you look at the second picture, you can see the seam and picture. Hope it helps - if not let me know and I'll post more pictures :)
